Rider Interview, Wylie

Ok, let’s get the tough questions out of the way first: What’s your name?
Wylie Robinson
What part of Charlotte, do you call home?
University
Tell us about your background in cycling, and and what got you into the sport?
My dad was legally blind and stubborn which made cycling the perfect sport for him, which then rubbed off on me.
What’s your favorite kind of riding to do today?
The kind that doesn’t involve going to the hospital
What do you take on a ride with you no matter what (besides the bike of course)?
A spare tire on the road bike. A map of Charlotte with the fixed gear.
What are you riding right now?
A 2010 Trek 1.5 and a early 90′s Giant Kronos converted to fixed.
Where is your favorite place to ride?
Harrisburg and Uptown
How often do you ride?
2-6 days a week
If you hadn’t jumped into the cycling, what do you think you would be doing now?
Causing a ruckus and staying up late
Anything else you would like to add?
Last night i was trying to pop up over a curb on my fixed gear and ended up having my front wheel come back down to soon. after that my back wheel went up in the air, everything collapsed, and I dislocated my elbow one and a half inches out of the socket…needless to say I’m gonna be out of the game for a little bit. *Ed. Note: Wylie answered these questions for us last month. After 3 weeks recovery, we’re happy to report he’s back out there keeping it wheels down.
*Time Bonus: Favorite post ride beer?
*Ed. Note: Oddly enough, the kid who would be “causing a ruckus and staying up late” if he wasn’t riding bikes declined to answer the bonus question about post-ride-beer. Get it together, Wylie.
