05.26.1124HOB Rider Safety Volunteers NeededLocal cyclist, organzier and advocate Rafik Betabdishoo is looking for on bike, on course help with 24 Hours of Booty rider safety. He is working with the 24 Hours of Booty organizing committee and has been tasked to coordinate the Rider Safety Program. Rafik added, "Basically we're course marshals during the event so you get to ride the event and report any safety issues." Please consider volunteering. 01.05.11Begin. Again.This morning, registration opened for the 2011 edition of 24 Hours of Booty. For those of you that aren't aware, this entire 36th Street Racing ballooned from a silly idea. Matt and I wanted some fancy jerseys as we shoved ourselves around the infamous Booty loop. Go slow. Look fast. A year later, here we are. 36th Street Racing is 40 strong on the mailing list, close to 90 followers on Facebook, and at times we've had 20+ on our group rides. Icing on the cake? It's been a blast. 11.11.10Why Pablove?Any of you that own - or have seen - the 36th Street Racing jersey may wonder what, who or why the "Pablove" logo is on the left sleeve. Jeff Castelaz is a friend, music business colleague, and avid cyclist who tragically lost his son Pablo in 2009 to Wilms tumor. Jeff founded the "Pablove Foundation" with his wife JoAnn to honor Pablo's life and his courage. The Pablove Foundation is tasked with a twofold mission: "fund pediatric cancer research and to support activities such as play, art, reading and music for cancer kids in hospitals." 06.08.10Reboot. | 24HOBOur reboot team is up and running. Go to http://tinyurl.com/24HOBreboot and search “36th Street Racing”. Password to sign up as a team member is ‘lootyboop’. The program is simple. As riders leave the course Saturday afternoon, 24 Hours of Booty will recycle their bib numbers for reboot riders to ride for the remainder of the event on Saturday. 04.07.10This Is Our Humble Path.This is our humble path. At roughly 3 miles, it sneaks up on you. The dreaded Booty Loop. We’re riding this small, albeit hilly circuit through the Myers Park/Queens University neighborhood over and over again on July 30th. Over and over. Every turn of the pedal in honor of a friend, family member, distant relative and complete stranger. Over and over. Until we beat cancer.
