03.30.12Weekend of March 30 & April 1Tonite, New Belgium is bringing the Surly Beer Bike to Uptown Cycles. It's all part of the Urban Assault Ride taking place this Sunday. 6p at the shop. Bring our ID and your thirst. Last weekend we saw 30+ riders chase the storms around Charlotte while managing to stay dry. We topped it off with a reasonably successful Lead/Chase split that seemed to work pretty well, and wrapped the whole thing up by drinking Growlers out of all of their Ranger and Fat Tire. 03.23.12Weekend of March 24th & 25thSpring has officually sprung, people. That means warmer weather, more daylight and more riding. It also means Coppo e Bartali, Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, Ghent-Wevelgem and Criterium International all running over the weekend. The Thursday ride is slowly picking up steam again. We saw 8 intrepid riders peel to the Booty Loop, 9 when you count a run-in with Bill Allen on course. 03.19.12Race Re-capBig night Friday at the Shamrock Crit in Albermarle. Greg Thompson takes the win and a wheel prime in the 4/5 after Big Duquette (Allen) did an amazing job of ramping up the early pace. Wojtek nabbed a prime, and we placed 3 in the top 10 with Neill 5th and Jaime 7th. In the 3/4 Lil Duquette made an 8 man break and took 4th. Well done boys.

03.06.12Racing Wrap-upNice recap on the Cat 5s from Joey "Lifts": We had a Presby/Energy Cafe/Uptown Cycles/36th Street Racing/Go Slow Look Fast victory today in the Cat 5 35 Years and Older category. David Hay took the sprint for victory on the final climb up River Falls. 36R was very active in the race as Wim, David and I rode at the front and kept things in check. 03.01.12Weekend of March 3 & 4The Spring Classic's have started! A great weekend of racing from the pro's in Belgium last weekend with KBK and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. A good performance at GP Le Samyn from Team USA and National Champ Farina. She was on the front with 5k before suffering a mechanical (broken shifter!). More warm weather this weekend, and more local racing. The Hincapie series winds up with River Falls Saturday and Donaldson Center on Sunday.
