Shortly after our move to Charlotte I began hearing chatter about 24HOB and the infamous Booty Loop. Setting it as a “some day” goal for a novice cyclist, I began spinning around the neighborhood on a 1987 Peugeot Iseran that I had converted (with the help of a friend) to a single speed. As I slowly expanded my leg and lung capacity I ventured out around the NoDa area a scant few times, but ultimately focused on trying to shove that hulk of steel around the ‘hood.
