Your Weekend in Bullet Point: March 15 & 16

2014 North American Handmade Bicycle Show. As most of you know, NAHBS is in town all weekend at the Convention Center (S. College street in Uptown). It’s great to see everyone volunteering and checking out the insanely amazing bikes.

Saturday Night, NAHBS Party in Noda. 730p at the Party Pedaler Warehouse, 26th Street and N. Davidson opposite from Birdsong Brewing and Noda Brewing.

DETOUR: Bridge out on Pine Grove Church Rd. We’ll still need to detour around. The best detour will be staying straight on Lower Rocky Ricer, left on Pioneer, left on Morrison, and finally turning left on Flowes Store. Then take a right on Sam Black to get back on course.

DETOUR: Old Concord Rd. Our ride out on Sunday will require a slight detour around Old Concord Rd (closed due to light rail construction). We’ll continue past Old Concord and turn right on Orr Rd. Reverse on the way back in.

930a, Uptown Cycles Winter Ride Last of the season. This weekly ride leaves from 1432 W. Morehead. Rotating routes. Organized riding at Winter pace. Call the shop for this week’s route details. Long & short options. A small group leaves from NoDa at 9a.

9a, 36th Street Racing Sunday Ride. Group departs from the corner of 36th & Yadkin. 53miles. Ride together to Stallings Road Park. Pack should stay together and relaxed tempo until the Lead/Chase split at Pine Grove Church Rd & Flowes Store Rd. Lead group rides at or near race pace, with ORGANIZED EFFORTS. Chase group will ride no drop (18.5-19.5mph) and sweep the route. Stay together, stay safe. Pub finish at Growlers Pourhouse for $2.50 Rangers and Fat Tires courtesy New Belgium Brewery.

We do our best to make sure everyone gets home in one piece, but it can be tough to account for all. Please come prepared. Cell phone, food, water, cue sheet, route & pace familiarity, ID, and cash are always good things to have on your person no matter the distance.

36th Street Racing does not warrant the safety of routes selected for rides. Roads are NOT closed for cyclists.
